EU Residence

EU Residence translates the client’s dream of a classic English cottage into the tropical reality of Dalung — a home for a chef and their family, organised around cooking, gathering, and everyday life, facing the last protected rice fields in the area.

The sunken living room is the intimate centre of the house, and the kitchen works at two registers: a professional space for a working chef and a family kitchen for daily life. Sliding glass doors dissolve the wall between the living room, pool, and outdoor dining, so the domestic sequence runs unbroken from stove to garden.

The architecture holds the cottage memory without pastiche: three distinct facades, gables, and textured walls under a bold dark-grey slanted roof, executed in tropical materials with passive design carrying comfort — large openings, shade, and the indoor–outdoor connection doing the work of climate control.

The house was completed in 2026, with interiors by Arichi Christika, landscape by Namlia Mahabba, and photography by Manik Suryawan.
