Talisa Dwiyani
Talisa Dwiyani is an Indonesian architect and material researcher based in Ubud, and a member of Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (IAI). She founded Pulau Studio in 2025, after co-founding ADA Studio Bali and working as a project architect at andramatin in Jakarta. She holds a Master of Arts in Creative Sustainability from Aalto University in Finland and a Bachelor of Architecture from Universitas Indonesia. Her material research has been supported by grants from Arts Promotion Centre Finland and the Nordic Culture Fund.

Research
Material research runs under Sabin Collective, a separate studio Talisa founded in 2020 and keeps distinct from Pulau Studio. The work is hands-on and slow: casting, testing, and documenting how bio-based materials behave in a tropical climate over time.

Seaweed biofilm, rice straw, engineered bamboo, and kombucha leather, documented for colour, texture, flexibility, fading, mould, and decomposition. Collaborators include Kallarona, Arabia and Iittala, and Aalto University.

Project coordinator and design researcher on the Department of Seaweed with Professor Julia Lohmann, and on Carbon Lane, an EIT Climate-KIC biochar project in Helsinki. Field research in Zanzibar with the Commission for Land.
